West Coast Regional Sales Manager

 

The Western RSM is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in the Western Region in the Natural/Health Food channel.  Under supervision of the Vice President of Sales, the RSM oversees our brokers and direct reps and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with the company vision and values.


Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to sales strategy and ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability in the Western Region
  • Travel as necessary for field visits with Brokers and direct reps to assess trends, identify opportunities, and increase brand awareness and presence in natural health foods channel
  • Conducts monthly one-on-one review with all Western Regional Brokers and direct sales reps to build effective communications, understand training and development needs, and provide insight for the improvement of Brokers’ and direct reps sales activity and performance.
  • Provides timely feedback on performance and other initiative updates
  • Assist Brokers and direct sales reps in preparation of proposals/presentations.
  • Coordinate business activities so they are fully aligned with company activities and objectives
  • Controls expenses to meet company guidelines

Qualifications:

  • MUST HAVE  3+ yrs of significant sales leadership experience in the Health & Beauty Aids natural channel
  • Analytical skills to see voids and opportunities to effectively support company growth objectives with all retailers
  • Outstanding motivational and coaching skills; a team builder and leader
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Human Resources Coordinator


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruitment by job posting creation and placement, background checks, and drafting offer letters.
  • Schedule and coordinate on-boarding for new hires; conduct orientation and collect documentation.
  • Maintain and update HR database, and coordinate with payroll on timekeeping administration and review.
  • Administer benefits and leave programs. 
  • Ensure timely and consistent completion of performance review process, coordinate with appropriate departments.
  • Manage the employee safety committee, conduct monthly safety inspections and trainings.
  • Coordinate employee events and celebrations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in the HR field
  • Must be conversationally fluent in Spanish
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel & Word
  • Proficient with HRIS database systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.

Production Artist


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accuracy and efficiency for labels and all printed materials.  Working with Operations & Quality Control, you will produce artwork that meets all standards through a strict sign-off and proofing process.  
  • Coordinate with printing and supply vendors to ensure smooth pre-press & printing process.
  • Maintain paper filing and digital filing for labels and POP displays.
  • Proof existing and new artwork from vendors and printers in a timely manner.
  • Ensure correct and current artwork is ordered through purchasing.
  • Inspect and sign-off on all incoming labels and POP displays for quality control.
  • Create UPC/Bar codes and maintain accuracy during creation, submissions and printing.
  • Ensure all labels and POP's have accurate and current ingredients and certifications.
  • Create samples and mock-ups for presentation and validating purposes.
  • Create other print artwork as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of production design experience.
  • Must be proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop. InDesign a plus.
  • Prefer pre-press, label construction, packaging construction knowledge.
  • Must have a strong sense of color.
  • Photo retouching/photography experience a plus.
  • Must be local and work out of our office in San Rafael.
  • Strong organizational skills, and amazing attention to detail.
  • The ability and willingness to handle multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to work with a team, and take direction from several sources.

Quality Control Inspector


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the routine inspection and sample collection of incoming materials including, but not limited to liquids, powders, labels, packaging, and containers against standards/specifications.
  • Conduct testing and/or compare samples to standards to ensure items meet specifications.
  • Maintain logs and all related documentation according to the SOP's and GDP's.
  • Input data into spreadsheets or database programs.
  • Maintain lab equipment utilized in proper working order.
  • Routine auditing of production line process.
  • Planned inspections of scaled raw materials for accuracy in compounding.

Qualifications:

  • 1-5 years of experience working in a QC role
  • Prefer cosmetic or food experience
  • Intermediate computer skills including Word and Excel. Must be able to utilize computer to enter and track data
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills. Self starter, must be able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to read and follow documents (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Good math skills plus the ability to convert between Standard and Metric systems
  • Must be able to lift and/or move 50 lbs

Maintenance Mechanic


Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and fix equipment, to eliminate downtime and maintain safety.
  • Training on new equipment for production and sanitation departments.
  • Ongoing training on equipment set up and safety.
  • Order parts and coordinate repairs in a timely manner.  Be able to communicate with outside tech departments, like Grainger & McMaster Carr.
  • Follow & ensure compliance on all Safety procedures including chemical & material handling, Material Safety Data Sheet instructions, Code of Safe Practices, LOTO, and all safety programs.
  • Ensure equipment is in safe working order.  Schedule & ensure ongoing preventative maintenance programs, logs, and inspections.
  • Help maintain parts inventory and an organized manuals database.
  • Help keep maintenance department clean and organized.
  • Be conscious of and follow all quality control/quality assurance procedures.  Work with lab and production personnel as required & necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or Technical Degree preferred
  • 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience in the application of Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Prefer a background working with batching and mixing processes in a manufacturing environment, including foods or specialty chemicals.
  • An independent, organized self-starter & team player who can assess needs and deliver results
  • Amazing attention to detail
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Bilingual a plus
