How is EO different from other companies?

Brad and SusanEO© is a family owned business based on principles of integrity over profit, and stewardship of the environment. Since the company's beginnings in 1995, cofounders Brad Black and Susan Griffin-Black have set themselves apart as early leaders in green business practices.

EO produces and ships all products from its certified organic facility in Marin County, California. In doing so, the company provides jobs for local workers and minimizes its carbon footprint by eliminating the need to transport manufactured goods. EO was one of the first non-GMO certified companies. All bottles use at least 50 percent post-consumer recycled plastic. And EO uses only pure essential oils, no synthetic fragrances. While holding true to its principles, EO has grown into an international company with a leading presence in the natural and organic body care industry.

Ingredient lists on body care products are often difficult to understand, and too-frequently incomplete. In addition, thousands of companies label their products as "natural," while there exists no FDA-regulation defining the word "natural." Below we offer a straight-forward, side-by-side comparison of EO hand cleansing products versus the conventional alternative, highlighting any ingredients that have been deemed potentially hazardous. Hand Sanitizer

Hand Cleansers

Killing germs and bacteria with hand cleaner makes common sense to prevent colds, flus and other infections. But why risk exposing yourself to carcinogens, and other potentially dangerous chemicals in the process.

Hand Soap

Hand Soap

Washing before meals and after using the restroom is common, sound practice. Hand soaps containing the dangerous chemical Triclosan promise to kill more than 95 percent of germs and bacteria when in fact studies show that Triclosan-free soaps are just as effective at preventing illness and removing bacteria from hands.

Hand/Body Lotion

Hand/Body Lotion

Regular washing can leave hands feeling dry. A hand lotion is the perfect remedy, but be sure to leave your hands coated with a chemical-free formula.
