A

Agave (Agave tequilana) Leaf Extract

A watery syrup extracted from the Blue Agave plant, which grows in the hot Mexican desert. It survives the heat by storing water in its cells. This extract is rich in vitamins, and used to sweeten our breath spray.

Allantoin

A compound naturally occurring in herbs such as the nutrient-rich Comfrey plant. It is easily absorbed through the skin and helps promote cellular renewal. It has a soothing and softening effect on the skin.

Allyl Caproate

Allyl Caproate is a naturally occurring constituent in pineapple. It is used as a fragrance and flavor component.

Aloe Barbadenis Leaf Extract (Organic)

Skin-loving extract of the Aloe Barbadenis (Aloe Vera) plant. Naturally moisturizes skin. *Please note: the extract we use is decolorized. The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) recently added Aloe vera, non-decolorized whole leaf extract to their Proposition 65 list. We do not use, and have never used, that extract.

Aminomethyl Propanol

An alkaline compound that works to adjust pH levels in body care products.

Ananas Sativus (Pineapple) Fruit Extract

An extract of the Pineapple fruit. Its astringency lends well to cleansing products. It contains an enzyme called bromelain. Rich in amino acids, Pineapple is moisturizing for skin. Alpha hydroxyl acids give this extract its exfoliation properties.

Antioxidants

Antioxidants are naturally occurring in many fruits, herbs and plants. They can be used to help preserve a product and deliver detoxifying benefits to the skin.

Argan (Argania Spinosa) Oil

Produced from the Argan tree (Argania spinosa), found primarily in Morocco. Its seeds are milled and cold pressed to produce the oil. It contains high levels of antioxidants, essential fatty acids and natural vitamin E.

Artemisia Pallens Flower/Leaf/Stem Oil

Also known as Davana Oil, this is steam distilled from the flower, leaf, and stem of the plant. It has a sweet, fruity and woody aroma with a slight camphor note.

Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract

This is an extract from the seeds oats that makes a great moisturizer for the skin. It is also used for its anti-inflammatory, moisturizing and soothing properties. This oat extract is Gluten Free.

B

Benzaldehyde

Benzaldehyde occurs naturally in cherries, peaches and carnation flowers. It can also be acquired from the oil of bitter almonds. Benzaldehyde is a common component in natural cherry, and natural almond flavors and fragrances.

Benzyl Alcohol

This ingredient protects products from microbial contamination. Benzoic Alcohol is found naturally in apricots, cocoa, cranberries, mushrooms, honey, and many florals.

Bergamot (Citrus bergamia) Essential Oil

Bergamot is a fragrant citrus fruit from the tropical plant called Citrus bergamia. The fruit is the size of an orange, but ranges in colors between lime and yellow. This essential oil is cold pressed directly from the fruit. Bergamots citrusy tart aroma is both uplifting and calming at the same time.

Beta Glucan

Beta-glucans are polysaccharides found in yeast, bacteria, fungi, seaweed, and grains such as oats. When it is applied to the skin, it acts as a humectant moisturiser attracting water to its top layers.

Bitter Orange (Citrus aurantium amara) Essential Oil

Cold pressed from the rind of the fruit from the Bitter Orange Tree. The odor is a cross between the sweetness of Sweet Orange Essential Oil and the slight bitterness of Grapefruit Essential Oil.

Black Pepper (Piper nigrum) Essential Oil

Oil steam distilled from unripe, sun-dried Peppercorns. When applied topically, this oil is warming and stimulating. Its aroma is sharp and energizing. Black Pepper reminds us to hold onto our dreams with both flexibility and stamina.

Bois De Landes Essential Oil

This is produced by co-extraction of French pine resinoid with Virginian cedarwood. The odor has a fruity- top-note with Balsam fir undertones.

Bromelain

A type of pure natural plant protein extracted from a pineapple’s stem, leaf, and peel. It is very good for brightening and smoothing the skin.

C

Calendula (Calendula Officinalis) Flower Extract (Organic)

Commonly known as Marigold. It is nourishing to skin, and contains natural potent antioxidants. It can quench free radicals, and filter harmful high-energy blue light. Calendula is one of the star ingredients in our signature EO® Organic Herbal Blend.

Calmellia Japonica Seed Oil (Tsubaki Oil)

Also known as Japanese tea oil or Tsubaki oil and it is extracted from the seeds of a tea plant. It is naturally rich in antioxidants, essential fatty acids, and Vitamins A, B, D, and E, all of which help seal in moisture.

Calmellia Sinensis Leaf Extract

Extracted from the evergreen shrub Camellia Sinensis, whose leaves are used to make tea. Extracts of White Tea and Green Tea leaves are high in plant-based antioxidant polyphenols, making it a great ingredient for skin care. Camellia Sinensis is one of the star ingredients in our signature EO® Organic Herbal Blend.

Cannabis sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil

Obtained by cold pressing Hemp seeds. This unrefined oil is dark to clear light green in color, with a pleasant nutty aroma. High in Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, it absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving a greasy after feel. Especially conditioning for hair, this oil is a great, protective ingredient in hair products.

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride

This is a natural emollient which is derived from coconut oil and glycerin. It repairs the surface of the skin, and prevents the loss of moisture. This ingredient is very gentle to the skin, and does not leave a greasy residue.

Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside

A mild cleansing surfactant, and an effective solubilizing agent for essential oils. Derived from plant based fatty acids, this biodegradable oily liquid is great for skin and for boosting the foam in soaps.

Carbomer

In cosmetics, this fluffy powder is used as a thickener. Consisting of synthetic polymers, carbomer has a particularly nice skin feel. This ingredient is what gives gels and solutions that rich and luxurious feeling. It does not present bioaccumulation issues.

Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) Oil

This oil is steam distilled from the fruit and seeds of the Elettaria cardamomum plant. It has a spicy, refreshing, and uplifting aroma.

Carrot (Dauccus carota sativa) Seed Oil

Steam distilled from the seed of the carrot plant, this essential oil is rich in Carotene and Vitamin A. High in antioxidants, this skin-conditioning oil helps soften, renew and restore. This oil is excellent for clearing the complexion and its nutrients make it especially beneficial for aging skin.

Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil

Comes from the seeds of the Carthamus tinctorius plant. It is light and easily absorbed by the skin, providing softening and protective effects. It has the highest linoleic acid content of all vegetable oils. This fatty acid is essential for the regulation of moisturization and restructuring of the epidermis.

Cedarwood (Juniperus virginiana) Essential Oil

Oil extracted by steam distillation of Cedarwood chips and sawdust. This oil has antiseptic properties, making it an excellent ingredient in shampoos and lotions that help restore balance. The oil smells soothing and woodsy. Cedarwood reminds us that every moment is an opportunity to start anew.

Ceramide-3

Ceramides are a family of lipid molecule found naturally in high concentrations on the skin. Ceramides help hold skin together by forming a protective layer on top of the skin. This layer limits moisture loss and protects against visible damage from pollution and other environmental stressors.

Cetearyl Alcohol

A fatty alcohol derived entirely from vegetable oil that is used to thicken and stabilize formulas.

Cetearyl Glucoside

This is a natural, vegetable based emulsifier derived from plant sugars and fatty acids. This ingredient is formed by the condensation resulting from combining cetearyl alcohol (fatty acid) with glucose. It is used mainly in lotions as a thickener, and an emulsifier to help bond ingredients together.

Cetearyl Olivate and Sorbitan Olivate

A complex combination of fatty acids dervied from olives. This chemically resembles the lipid combination naturally produced on the skin's surface. It holds oil and water together to form an emulsion. It helps add to the formula moisturization and gives the product a glamourous texture.

Cetyl Alcohol

A fatty alcohol used as a thickener and emulsifier to help bond ingredients together.

Cetyl Esters

A blend of plant derived ester compounds that provide moisture, body, and thickness to a cosmetic formulation. It has excellent softening properties that benefit the skin.

Cetyl Palmitate

A pure vegetable lipid that is composed of natural fatty acids. This is a thickener and emollient which helps smooth and condition dry skin.

Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis) Essential Oil

Known for its calming effect, this oil distilled from the Chamomile flower has antioxidant properties. Chamomile has been used for centuries for its nourishing abilities.

Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis) Flower Extract (Organic)

For centuries, Chamomile has been known as a plant with a wide range of curative properties. Sourced from the beautiful white and yellow flowers, this extract is calming, moisturizing and toning for the skin.

Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) Essential Oil

Distilled from the leaves and twigs of the Cinnamon tree, this spicy oil is warming, stimulating and invigorating. Cinnamon reminds us that sweetness and love are always with us.

Citral

Natural plant constituent that gives off a lemon aroma. It is naturally found in Lemons, Lemon myrtle, Lemongrass, Lemon Verbena, and Limes. It is used as a fragrance and flavor component.

Citric Acid

This acid occurs naturally in citrus fruits, produced by fermentation of carbohydrates, and chemically synthesized. It is used to adjust pH levels in cosmetic products.

Clary Sage (Salvia sclarea) Essential Oil

Sourced from the leaves and flowers of the Salvia sclarea plant using steam distillation, this oil has a fresh, herbal aroma. Clary Sage essential oil has a a calming, balancing effect. Clary Sage reminds us that we all have an important role to play and to get out there and do what we do.

Clementine (Citrus Reticulata) Essential Oil

Steam distilled from the peel of the Clementine. A natural hybrid of mandarin and sweet orange,this oil has a fresh and crisp citrus aroma.

Clove (Eugenia caryophyllus) Essential Oil

This fragrant, spicy oil is distilled from the immature flower buds of the Clove plant. Clove reminds us to see the possibilities that are all around us.

Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine

Derived from Coconut, this mild surfactant (cleanser) lends body care products their excellent foaming properties, and improves lather.

Coco Glucoside

Derived from Coconut and Sugar, this mild surfactant (cleanser) lends body care products their excellent foaming properties and improves lather.

Coconut (Cocos Nucifera) Fruit Water

Coconut Water is the juice pressed from the coconut fruit. It is moisturizing and nourishing to the skin.

Cocos nucifera (Coconut) Extract

Everything about Coconuts makes us think of a tropical getaway. This extract is food-grade naturally derived and certified organic. We use this flavor extract in a number of our hair and skin products due to its incredible scent.

Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil

Derived from the Coconut fruit, this vitamin-rich oil is used in body care products for its naturally emollient (softening) and lubricating properties. Because it is full of fatty acids, it acts as a barrier on the skin, keeping moisture locked in.

Commiphora Mukul Resin Extract

Commiphora Mukul Resin Extract is an extract of the resin of Commiphora mukul, Burseraceae. This extract brings restorative properties to the skin and works well in anti aging products.

Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax

Carnauba wax is the wax of the leaves of the Copernicia Prunifera (also known as Copernicia Cerifera) that grows wildly in northern Brazil. This ingredient makes products thicker, stabilizes the emulsion, and provides emoilliancy.

Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil

Abyssinian oil is an oil produced from the Crambe abyssinica crop. This oil comes from the seeds and it provides great hydration to the skin.

Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil

This oil is cold-pressed from the emerald green seeds of Cucurbita pepo. It travels deep into the skin to moisturize.

D

Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract

This extract comes from the part of the carrot that you eat. It contains a high level of beta-carotene which is a potent antioxidant.

Dimethicone

Dimethicone is an emollient that provides silky texture to products, seals hydration, and protects the skin. It works by forming a film that prevents the loss of water through the skin. Dimethicone forms a barrier on the skin that protects against transepidermal water loss (TEWL), which can lead to inflammatory conditions.

E

Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea) Root Extract (Organic)

Echinacea Angustifolia is native to North America and produces bright purple flowers. Extracts of the plant are used in skin care for their nourishing properties.

Essential Oils

Essential oils are the oily liquids obtained from plants through a variety of processes such as cold pressing, CO2 extraction and steam distillation. They are complex mixtures of alcohols, ketones, phenols, acids, ethers, aldehydes, esters, oxides, and sulfur compounds (among others). They're also called volatile oils, ethereal oils or essences. It usually has the taste and smell of the plant it originates from. They are called essential oils because they are considered the fundamental “essence” of a plant. Throughout history, they have been considered essential to life.

Ethanol (Or Ethyl Alcohol)

A colorless, volatile liquid. Widely known as the active ingredient in alcoholic beverages, Ethanol is also used in cosmetics as a solvent, preservative and antimicrobial agent. It is the active ingredient in EO and Everyone hand sanitizers.

Ethyl Acetate

A naturally ocurring constituent in various fruits. It is used as a fragrance and flavor component. It has a fruity aroma.

Ethylhexylglycerin

A preservative derived from vegetable glycerin, often coconut or palm oil. It has multiple benefits including acting as an emollient, and improving the skin feel of cosmetic formulations.

Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus) Essential Oil

This oil is extracted through steam distillation of the leaves and branches of the Eucalyptus tree. Fragrant and fresh, this oil has naturally deodorant properties. It gives off a camphorous aromatic woody note. Eucalyptus is a gentle reminder to clear the air and move forward in life.

F

Ficus Carica (Fig) Fruit/Leaf Extract

Sourced from the Fig fruit and leaf, this extract is very moisturizing and soothing to skin and hair. Figs are rich in antioxidants and loaded with minerals and Vitamins A, E and K.

Fragaria Vesca (Strawberry) Fruit Extract

Strawberry Extract is a natural extract of the fruit of Fragaria Vesca. Strawberries are very high in vitamin C and have a very high antioxidant activity.

Frankincense Essential Oil

Frankincense, also called olibanum, is an aromatic resin obtained from the Boswellia tree native to northeastern Africa. Obtained through steam distillation of the dried resin, Frankincense has been highly regarded for thousands of years. Used today in perfumes and incense, this beautiful aromatic also doubles as a revitalizing skin care ingredient, especially in mature skin. Frankincense is our reminder to take a look inside and be pleased with what we see.

Gamma Decalactone

A lactone compound found naturally in many fruits. It has a fruity peach and coconut like aroma.

Gamma Nonalactone

A natural plant constituent used as a fragrance and flavor component. It has a tropical coconut aroma.

Gamma Octalactone

A natural plant constituent used as a fragrance and flavor component. It adds a creamy and coconut note to the fragrance.

Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens) Essential Oil

This essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves and flowers of Rose Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens) plant. It has a gentle, floral scent with a minty, fresh finish. Geranium is our reminder to be open to kindness.

Ginger (Zingiber officinale) Essential Oil

Steam distilled from Ginger root, this warm and spicy essential oil has been used for centuries. Ginger is our reminder to rekindle the heat in our belly and break out of self-confinement.

Glycerin

A natural humectant, it draws water into the outer layer of the skin and helps retain moisture. Used in skin care products to increase lubricity and moisturize. The Glycerin we use is conscientiously sourced from Palm, Palm Kernel or Coconut. It is also a component of all animal and vegetable fats and oils and is formed during saponification (the process of making soap) as a byproduct.

Glyceryl Caprylate

A plant derrived ingredient that doubles as a moisturizer and emulsifier (holds the oil and water of the formulation together).

Glyceryl Stearate

Produced via esterification (a reaction of an alcohol with an acid) using non-GMO glycerin and plant derived stearic acid. This ingredient is an emulsifier, and moisturizer. It acts as a lubricant on the skin's surface, which gives the skin a soft and smooth appearance, and slows the loss of water from the skin by forming a barrier on the skin's surface.

Glyceryl Undecylenate

This plant derrived ingredient acts as an emulsifier, while restoring the oils of the skin. It also regulates skin moisture by acting as a humectant.

Glycine Soja (Soybean Oil)

Our non-GMO soybean oil is obtained from the soybean plant, Glycine soja. This ingredient primarily consists of triglycerides of oleic, linoleic, and saturated acids and works as an antioxidant to the skin.

Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract

Centella, also known as Gotu Kola or Indian Pennywort (Centella Asiatica), is an anti-inflammatory agent that is used in a variety of skin creams. It is also great for hair. It is known to strengthen hair and to promote growth.

Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi) Essential Oil

Grapefruit essential oil is cold pressed from glands located in the fruits peel. Its uplifting smell is sweet and juicy, yet slightly bitter. Grapefruit oil is naturally high in antioxidants and phytochemicals that reduce oxidative stress and inflammation. It is known for its cleansing and purifying properties, and is frequently used in skin care for its ability to promote the appearance of clear and healthy looking skin.

H

Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water

This extract is obtained by the distillation of twigs, bark and leaves of Hamamelis virginiana. It works as an astringent, and soothes the skin.

Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Seed Oil Unsaponifiable

The unsaponifiable part of sunflower oil is the small part of the oil that resists saponification (soap making). It is used as an emoilliant, and has great lipid-replenishing and soothing properties to the skin.

Helichrysum (Helichrysum angustifolium) Essential Oil

The essential oil is steam distilled from the blossoms of the Helichrysum Italicum plant. From the daisy family Asteraceae, this plant is also called Everlasting or Immortelle. It grows on dry, rocky or sandy ground around the Mediterranean. It is used as a fixative in perfumes, and has an intense fragrance.

Heliotropine

A natural plant constituent used as a fragrance and flavor component. Gives a soft and creamy scent to the formula.

Hexenyl Acetate

A natural plant derived aroma chemical that gives a fresh, green banana type note.

Hibiscus Rosa-Sinensis Flower Extract

Hibiscus rosa-sinensis flower extract has a beautiful, bright red color. It has been used for centuries for its hair and skin loving benefits. High in Vitamin C, these flower acids improve skin structure and brightness. Hibiscus extract increases hair’s shine while also detangling, making combing easier.

Himalayan Cedarwood (Cedrus deodara) Essential Oil

Steam distilled oil from the wood of the Cedrus Deodara tree. Himalayan Cedarwood oil is naturally astringent, making it beneficial to the skin, in addition to smelling so fresh and wonderful. Cedarwood reminds us that every moment is an opportunity to start anew.

Hinoki (Chamaecyparis obtusa) Essential Oil

Hinoki essential oil comes from a unique species of Cypress native to Japan. It is extracted by steam distillation of the wood. The scent is light and woodsy.

Hippophae Rhamnoides Oil

Pressed from the berries of the Sea Buckthorn plant, it has a pronounced soothing effect on skin. Also contains vitamins A and E, as well as amino acids and antioxidants.

Ho Wood ( Cinnamomum camphora) Essential Oil

Steam distilled from the bark and wood, bark, and leaves of the Cinnamomum camphora tree. It smells smells sweet, fresh and woody, with subtle floral notes.

Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract

Sourced from dried Hop flowers, this extract is especially great for skin care. This extract is known to soften and purify the skin. Used in hair products, this vitamin-rich oil is believed to help with hair strength protecting against fall-out.

Hydrolyzed Quinoa Protein

These are natural amino acids obtained from Quinoa. The high amino acid content will help to restore hydration to the epidermis, or the cuticle of the hair. Hydrolyzed Quinoa provides film forming, and moisture retention benefits.

Hydrolyzed Rice Protein

Non-GMO Rice protein broken down by water (hydrolyzed) to yield amino acids which are bonding to skin and retain moisture.

Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate

A naturally derived sugar which helps give structure to the formula, stabilize the emulsion, and build the formulas thickness.

Ionone

Natural plant constituent found in in violet petals. Used as a fragrance and flavor component. It adds a floral note to fragrance blends.

J

Jasmine (Jasminum sambac) Absolute

Extracted from the flowers of the night blooming Jasminum sambac. It smells sweet, floral, and musky. Jasmine is known to bring sensual energy to those who wear it.

L

Lavandin Essential Oil

Essential oil of the leaves and flowers of the hybrid plant developed by crossing true Lavender with Spike Lavender. It has a light floral aroma similar to Lavender, only sharper. Lavandin reminds us to be present.

Lavender Essential Oil

Steam distilled from the leaves and flowers of the Lavender plant, this beautiful floral oil is generally regarded as the most useful and versatile essences for therapeutic purposes. One of our favorite ingredients. It is calming, but also stimulating and refreshing. Lavender reminds us to allow time for peace and quiet in our lives so that our body, mind and spirit can heal.

Lecithin

Used in body care products as an emulsifier and emollient (moisturizer). It's found in egg yolk but ours is derived from non-GMO Soy oil. It is naturally high in fatty acids that are beneficial to skin.

Lemon (Citrus Medica Limonum) Essential Oil

Cold pressed from the rind of the Lemon, this bright oil has an uplifting and delightful aroma. Powerful in aromatherapy, Lemon oil calls to mind feelings of cleanliness and refreshment. Used in body care products, it has been shown to brighten and tone dull skin. Lemon reminds us to clear our minds of distractions and focus.

Lemon Myrtle Essential Oil

Steam distilled from the leaves of the Lemon Myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) plant. The aroma is often referred to as “more Lemon than Lemon."

Lemon Myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) Essential Oil

Steam distilled from the leaves of the Lemon Myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) plant. It has a pleasant an uplifting citrus aroma that is known to smell more like a lemon then Lemon Essential Oil.

Lemongrass (Cymbopogon Schoenanthus) Essential Oil

This oil is steam distilled from the grassy herb and it is high in Vitamins A, B, and C. Especially refreshing to the senses, Lemongrass oil has cleansing properties, and is particularly useful for oily skin and hair. Plus, it smells fantastic! Lemongrass is our reminder of the endless possibilities that are available to us.

Lime (Citrus aurantifolia) Essential Oil

This oil is steam distilled from the rind of the lime and has a bright, lively scent. It has the ability to brighten dull skin. Lime is our reminder that caring for ourselves is joyful.

Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Essential Oil

Derived from the seeds of meadowfoam (Limnanthes alba), provides long-lasting hydration and care. This oil absorbs easily into the skin.

Limonene

Limonene is a component found in the peels of citrus fruits, pine, and mint. It is naturally found in many essential oils, giving off a sweet orange aroma. It also acts as an antioxidant with skin soothing properties.

Linalool

Linalool is a terpene with a floral scent known for its calming and soothing properties. It is a natural constituent of Lavender and other essential oils.

M

Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil

Sourced from the pulp of the macadamia nut, it is rich in potent antioxidants, and essential fatty acids. This oil is smilar to your skin’s natural sebum. Therefore it hydrates without clogging pores.

Majoram (Thymus Mastichina) Essential Oil

Steam distilled from the flower and leaves of the Marjoram plant. In aromatherapy, Marjoram has a warm slightly spicy aroma. Marjoram is our reminder that there is warmth and calm within us, and all we need to do is relax to find it.

Maltodextrin

Maltodextrin is a plant-based sugar derived from corn, rice or potato. It helps moisturize the skin, and stabilize and improve the texture of skincare formulations. Since its chemical structure has water soluble sugar building blocks, it can help a formulation form into a gel. It also helps stabilize the cosmetics texture throughout its use.

Maltol

Maltol is a naturaly occuring organic compound that is derived from wood. It imparts a sweet aroma to essential oil blends.

Mandarin (Citrus reticulata) Essential Oil

Cold pressed from the peel of the Mandarin Orange, this oil has a sweet light scent. It provides toning benefits to skin. In aromatherapy, this uplifting oil is bright, citrusy, and promotes feelings of positivity. Mandarin is our reminder that everything about us is an asset.

Mango (Magnifera Indica) Seed Butter

Derived from the fruit kernels of the mango tree. It is naturally occlusive, meaning it makes a great ingredient in skin products for its coating abilities. It is naturally emollient (moisturizing) and contains high levels of Vitamins A and E, potassium, magnesium and calcium.

May Chang (Litsea cubeba) Essential Oil

Palmarosa (Cymbopogon martini) Essential Oil

Cymbopogon martini is a species of grass native to India and Indochina, but widely cultivated in many places for its aromatic oil. The Palmarosa oil is extracted from the stem of the grass by distillation of dried leaves.

Panthenol (Pro Vitamin B5)

A provitamin of B5 which helps hydrate the skin. It can speed up epidermal wound healing by strengthening the skin cells. It can boost the skin’s ability to fight off toxins in the environment.

Papain

An enzyme found in the Papaya fruit, and most abundantly from unripe green Papaya. This enzyme has the ability to digest protein, and select only dead cells without harming the living ones. These properties make Papain an excellent cellular renewal ingredient, and a great exfoliator.

Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin) Essential Oil

Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil

Cold-pressed extracted from ripened avocado fruit, Persea gratissima. It is used in skin care for its emollient properties, Vitamin E content, and oleic fatty acid composition.

Phenoxyethanol

Phenoxyethanol can be found naturally in products such as Green Tea, but is often synthesized for commercial use. It is commonly used as a replacement for parabens to preserve products and prevent microbial contamination. Phenoxyethanol has been studied by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) Expert Panel, and has been deemed safe when used at levels less than 1%. We use it as a mild preservative below this threshold.

Phytelephas Aequatorialis Seed Powder

Powder obtained from the dried, ground seeds of Phytelephas aequatorialis ( Ecuadorian Ivory Palm). This powder is an exfoiliator, which works against the top layers of the skin to remove dead, dulling surface cells.

A mixture of the fatty acids from olive oil plus a sugar known as sorbitol. This holds oil and water in lotions together and it contains humectant properties.

Sorbitan Palmitate

This is a natural ester made from palm oil and sorbitol that holds oil and water together in lotions.

Sorbitan Stearate

A surfactant composed of sweetener sorbitol and stearic acid, it helps water mix with oil in formulations.

Spearmint (Mentha viridis) Essential Oil

Stearic Acid

Stearyl Alcohol

This fatty alcohol is used as a thickener and emulsion stabilizer. Derived from vegetable sources.
